Malignant soft tissue tumors are classified as "sarcomas." These tumors are thought to arise from "connective tissues" other than bone, such as muscle, tendon, ligament, fat, and cartilage. They are rare. Only about 8, tumors of this type occur each year in the United States, representing only about 1% of all malignant tumors. Primary intracranial tumors of the brain structures, including meninges, are rare with an overall five-year survival rate of %; they are collectively called primary brain tumors.

The following is a list of cancer is a group of diseases that involve abnormal increases in the number of cells, with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. Not all tumors or lumps are cancerous; benign tumors are not classified as being cancer because they do not spread to other parts of the body. There are over different known cancers that affect humans. A diagnosis of cancer can be devastating. And there is good reason for this fear -- Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States next to heart disease, and will claim more than half a million lives this year.. The good news is that many forms of cancer can be avoided, and with early detection, a great number can be cured.

A benign lung tumor is an abnormal growth of tissue that serves no purpose and is found not to be cancerous. Benign lung tumors may grow from many different structures in the lung.
